We awarded the contract for restoration of the Baroni sculpture to Lucia Reati, Conservazione e restauro opere d’arte. Baroni’s early work was very expressive, in the Symbolist style, but after surviving service in World War I his perspective on life changed deeply, and his work turned to the Art Deco style. A very early practitioner of this international style, this memorial to Berthe Grosso Bonnin foresaw much of what other artists would start to create ten years later.
